Felt!

Dan and I woke up super early yesterday and I made this Ghoulie Ghost halloween pin:

I made a second, slightly different one for my sister, but I haven’t gotten a picture of it since she’s been wearing it. I think they’re really cute. I love how simple things made from felt look, even if their construction is somewhat complicated and/or arduous.

Today I woke up early again and left my computer in my room (something I never do). I put on Slice and started to make some Christmas ornaments for my grandmas. My mom bought one of those small Christmas craft magazines (you know, the kind they have at the grocery store checkout) and I looked through it during breakfast yesterday. Most of the finished crafts look cheaply done, but some of the ideas are pretty okay. There was one ornament tutorial for a stuffed felt circle with a star in the middle with multi-coloured buttons sewn all over the star. I didn’t really like the way the magazine made them (especially the weird puckering from the suggested blanket stitch they used) so I didn’t even want to try to make them. But this morning I decided to make one, but in my own way. And it was going to be better. They took forever to finish, but it was worth the extra work. I think my grandmas will like them : )

I’m totally running out of tiny white buttons now, lol.

ps. I went to apply for the job, but they were out of applications, so I’ll bring my resume in sometime this weekend instead : )
